Police Club Boxing Rules

1.Management of The Boxing Section

1:1 The Police Community Clubs of Great Britain [herein after referred to as PCCGB] 'Boxing Section' shall assign the administration of its Amateur Boxing activities to the Executive Committee of The Police & Community Boxing Association of England [herein after referred to as PBA] subject at all times to paragraph 3:3 below].

1:2 Some activities of the 'Boxing Section' may from time to time be invested in sub committees assembled by the PBA. These committees shall be governed at all times by these rules, the rules of the Amateur Boxing Association of England Limited [herein after referred to as 'The A.B.A.E.'] and the PBA.

1:3 With regard to Police Community Club business and activities, the 'Boxing Section' shall at all times adopt 'Regional Boundaries' as specified by the Police Community Clubs of Great Britain [PCCGB]


2. Aims

2:1 To promote the sport of amateur boxing in the PCCGB.

2:2 To promote the sport of amateur boxing under the rules of the ABAE, the PBA and of the 'Boxing Section'.

2:3 To provide opportunity for amateur boxers of all abilities to participate in sporting tournament both in Great Britain and abroad.

2:4 To support whenever possible, all member clubs of the 'Boxing Section' by way of action, deed and finance.

2:5 To organise and promote tournaments and other competitions between other member clubs of the 'Boxing Section'.

2:6 To encourage inter member support of 'Boxing Section' clubs on such member's tournaments.

2:7 To form teams to represent the PCCGB.

2:8 To promote police / community relations.

2:9 To encourage and actively promote a wide range of community based activities within each club.


3. Overriding Principles.

3:1 Acceptance as a member of the 'Boxing Section' will provide automatic membership to The Police Community Clubs of Great Britain.

3:2 That all 'Boxing Section' clubs, except Police Service & Home Office boxing clubs shall register with their own ABAE Regional Associations and shall at no time affiliate to the PBA.

3:3 At no time will 'Boxing Section' Club members compromise their position as first claim members of their own Regional Association.

3:4 That all 'Boxing Section' clubs shall have within their committee either, a serving or retired member of the United Kingdom Police Service or Home Office and / or a serving or retired member of the United Kingdom Police Service or Home Office Civil Staff.

3:5 'Boxing Section' clubs may incorporate the name 'Police' within their title upon joining the PCCGB if they so wish. If they do not incorporate the name 'Police' they must acknowledge that they are 'a member of the Police Community Clubs of Great Britain' within their title and on all relevant headed papers etc.

3:6 That all 'Boxing Section' clubs shall wherever applicable, adopt the aims of the PCCGB and the PBA and these overriding principles within their club rules.

3:7 With regard to 'Boxing Section' rules, all 'Boxing Section' clubs shall be bound by the decisions of the PBA with appeal being restricted to the PBA Chairman or his appointed deputy. (Note: The PCCGB is both a Registered and Umbrella Body of the Criminal records Bureau and as such is able to facilitate all CRB check procedures)

3:8 That no 'Boxing Section' club shall bring into disrepute the name or structure of the 'Boxing Section', the PBA or the A.B.A.E.

3:9 All persons who have unsupervised contact with children [under 18 years] and or Vulnerable Adults shall undergo the appropriate Criminal Records Bureau check before engaging in activities within clubs of the PCCGB


4. 'Boxing Section' Committee.

4:1 The management of the Committee shall be invested in the PBA.

4:2 Sub Committees including Regional Committees may be formed from time to time, the Chairperson of which shall be appointed by the PBA.

4:3 Sub Committees may include representatives of some or all 'Boxing Section' clubs from time to time.

4:4 All decisions of Sub Committees shall be subject to ratification by the PBA Executive Committee.

4:5 All rules of Committee including the appointment and actions of its officers shall be in accordance with the current rules of the PBA and all 'Boxing Section' members shall be bound by these rules, provided at all times that such rules do not compromise those of their respective Regional Associations.

5. 'Boxing Section' Collective Meetings.

5:1 There shall be at least one meeting per year to which each 'Boxing Section' club shall be invited to send a delegate. This / these meetings shall be for the purposes of information and discussion with regard to the implementation from time to time of the Aims of the PCCGB and the 'Boxing Section'.

5:2 One such collective meeting shall be held between amateur boxing seasons, which shall be a 'Forward Planning Meeting'. This shall include:

a. a report on the previous season's activities;

b. collective decisions on the next season's activities


6. Finance.
6:1 The current PBA and PCCGB [whichever is deemed appropriate by the PCCGB Executive committee] rules of finance and accounting shall be adopted to manage the finances of the Boxing Section.

6:2 Expenses to cover attendance at any event or meeting whether in the United Kingdom or abroad shall be determined on an event – meeting basis. In general terms, competitors travelling abroad shall attend the assembly point within the United Kingdom at their own or their clubs expense. All further costs will be met.

7. Fees.

7:1 Fees, if there be any, shall be determined from time to time by the PCCGB and or the PBA.

7:2 Any tournament organised by the PBA or the 'Boxing Section' shall not attract entry fees from 'Boxing Section' members.

8. Tournaments staged by the PBA.

8:1 Tournaments representing the PCCGB Boxing Section within the England shall attract reasonable travel expenses for boxer[s] and 'no more than' one coach per club. The attendance of other coach [es] from such clubs shall be entirely 'at their own expense', this shall include accommodation and travel charges if there be any.
