A past Commissioner of Police for London, Lord Stevens is universally known for his support of police and the work they do. Since his retirement from the Police Service he has been appointed to lead on a number of high profile investigations and enquiries, not least of which was the investigation into the untimely death of Diana, Princess of Wales. A committed supporter of our work, we are indeed fortunate in having him as a Patron.
MARTIN HEWITT QPM
Chairman – National Police Chiefs’ Council
In May 2014, Martin was promoted to the rank of Assistant Commissioner with the Metropolitan Police Service. He held a number of portfolios including responsibility is for professional standards, anti-corruption, and records management. He was the Management Board lead for preparing the organisation for the public enquiry into aspects of undercover policing. He was awarded the Queens Police Medal in the 2014 Queens Birthday Honours and took up his current post as head of the National Police Chiefs’ Council in April 2019. Martin joined the ‘Clubs’ in 2012.
GERRY SUTCLIFFE
Gerry was a Member of Parliament for Bradford South between 1994 and 2015. Together with numerous other posts he was a Member of the Public Accounts Committee from 1996 to 1997, a Parliamentary Under-Secretary for Trade and Industry (Employment Relations and Consumer Affairs) from 2003 to 2006, The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Justice May 2007 to June 2007, The Shadow Minister for Sport from May 2010 to Oct 2010 and a Member of the Culture, Media and Sport Committee from 2011 to 2015. Gerry joined the Police Clubs in August 2018.

The founder of the PCCGB, Barry has now retired from the Metropolitan Police Service having received numerous commendations for his work as a detective dealing with the most serious of offences against children. He has now become fully engaged in the work of the Police Clubs.

Derek is a retired Superintendent from Essex Constabulary who devotes his time to working directly for ‘The Clubs’

Gordon Valentine
Gordon retired as a Detective Inspector from the Metropolitan Police in 2011. He now assists ‘The Clubs’ as his ‘day job’ allows.
THE NATIONAL PROGRAMME MANAGER
Steve Arkley
Steve spent 25 years working at senior level in Local Authorities. As Head of Community Safety he led on multi-agency work to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour. This included developing strategies in partnership with Police, Health, Fire and Probation Services as well as a host of voluntary and private sector partners. His portfolio includes drug prevention, tackling serious organised crime, knife crime, counter terrorism and night time economy initiatives.
Steve has supported the work of the Police Community Clubs and National Police Community Trust for over 20 years. During this time he led on a Knife Crime education project commissioned by the Met Police which involved making 15 short films and conducting one of the largest youth consultations on knife crime undertaken in London. He has also designed numerous educational resources, including a Hate Crime resource and a series of children's books aimed at early intervention on subjects such as internet safety.

Mike Robinson
Based in North Shropshire, Mike has extensive experience in sales and administration.
As our Membership and Services Manager he is usually the first point of contact that people have with the Police Clubs and Police Service Boxing. He is always ready to help with all these areas. As the Police Boxing Association Registrar he is the point of contact for all police service boxers, coaches and officials' registration. Further, he also administers all our non-contact Olympic Boxing programmes and the issues of licences for all our sport and safeguarding programmes.

MICHAEL GANNON BEM
Leading our coaching team, Mick joined the British Army at 15 years of age. During a fine career in the armed forces Mick won numerous junior and senior army titles. He was awarded the British Empire Medal in the 1987 Queens Birthday Honours for services to the sport of amateur boxing. He was the British Army boxing team coach from 1982 – 1993 at which time he retired from the army as a Warrant Officer. Taking up post as an Officer safety Training Instructor for the Police Service. Mick then became the Police Boxing Association Chief Coach, a post he held until 2007 when he was appointed National Coach to the National Governing Body the ABA of England until 2014. He then returned to retake the post as National Coach of the Police Boxing Association. Mick currently continues to deliver all levels of coaches courses for both ourselves and the British Army worldwide.
MICHAEL HUNTER
Michael has been involved in Olympic boxing for many years having won numerous regional and national tiles before boxing for England. Having completed his career as an athlete, he remained in the sport to train as a coach which has culminated in his present qualification as a Level 3 England Coach as well as a National Coach Educator. Michael also served within the Metropolitan Police between 2004 and 2015. Since then he has taken up numerous coaching roles within the National Governing Bodies ‘Boxing Talent’ identification programme. Having recently retired from a position as the head of the Olympic Boxing programmes in two London Colleges, Mike delivers the PBA Olympic Boxing coaches courses and heads up all our non-contact boxing programmes across the country.
